Care and maintenance

Let your purchase last as long as possible

Thank you for your purchase! We are pleased that when it comes to fashion, you choose CHILDRENSHOWROOM! Below we have prepared information for you on use and maintenance. Please familiarize yourself with them so that you can enjoy your purchase for as long as possible!

Clothing Care

In order to maintain the good appearance of clothes, it is necessary to follow the clothing maintenance recommendations that are located on the clothing labels or attached labels. Before starting maintenance, carefully read the information provided there. They are provided in the form of pictograms.

Effective and safe clothing care

Remember about the right temperature

  • Always wash items at the temperature recommended by the manufacturer. You can find this information on the label or tag.
  • Wash thermal clothing at temperatures below 40 degrees. This will preserve its properties and prevent shrinkage.
  • Pay attention to the color of the clothes you wash:
    • Wash white clothes with white ones, and black and colored clothes with clothes in similar shades.
    • Wash darker clothes and jeans inside out.

Use the right detergents to wash your clothes

  • When washing black clothes, use products dedicated to black clothes.
  • Only wash technical clothing using dedicated agents designed for washing sportswear. This will prevent the membranes from getting clogged. Do not use fabric softeners or bleaches.
  • Wash knitted clothes using products designed for this purpose.

Remember: different types of clothing require different treatment during washing.

  • Be careful with spinning. Too much can distort the shape of the item. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Wash underwear in a separate, specially designed bag. This way, hooks, underwires or clasps won't drag down the rest of your wardrobe.
  • Do not spin technical clothing, drain the water instead.

Drying, ironing, storage

  • Iron items at the temperature recommended by the manufacturer. You can find this information on the label or tag. It is best to iron on the wrong side.
  • Follow the manufacturer's drying instructions. Dry clean only if the manufacturer allows it.
  • Do not dry thermal clothing in the sun. This may cause it to fade or shrink.
  • It is best to store natural furs in cotton bags for everyday use. Above all, try not to get them wet. If necessary, dry them in a ventilated place, away from heaters and radiators. Do not use cleaning agents on natural furs.
  • Do not wring knitwear and dry it lying down. We recommend drying it between two towels: change the towels until the knitwear is dry, then shape it on a clean towel or blanket.

Shoe Care

Basic rules for using shoes

1. When putting on and taking off your shoes, make sure you have unlaced them properly. This simple action will ensure that the upper and heel counters remain rigid and will not bend, stretch or kink.

2. To avoid kinking the tabs and tearing the uppers, use a shoehorn to put your shoes on. You will find one in the package with your order.

3. Avoid getting your shoes wet or sweaty. Even properly maintained shoes can get wet during rain or melting snow, which is why shoes marked as Waterproof work best in such conditions. If this happens, dry your shoes at room temperature, away from heat sources. Remember that the seller is not responsible for defects caused by external factors if the shoes are not intended for use in such conditions.

4. If you have chosen unlined leather shoes or shoes with a natural dyed lining, there may be some discoloration. This is a natural and temporary process. In shoes with a synthetic lining, discoloration does not occur.

5. Replacing worn uppers and laces, as well as caring for the inside of the shoes (replacing insoles), is within your scope and does not constitute grounds for complaint.

6. Use footwear for its intended purpose: e.g. wear home footwear in closed and dry rooms, and wear sports footwear on surfaces designated for this purpose.

7. Leather, composite and leather-covered heels require maintenance in the same way as shoe uppers.

8. Waterproof and Water Resistant footwear should be regularly impregnated to maintain the waterproof properties of the technologies used.

Do you impregnate? Do you preserve? Check if you are maintaining it properly!

The technical condition of footwear depends on its proper care. It is worth starting this process from the moment you buy the footwear. We recommend that new shoes - before they are used - undergo a thorough impregnation. To do this, apply an even layer of an impregnation product adapted to the given type of leather or other material to each of them. Before putting them on, make sure that the footwear is not wet or damp. Repeat the impregnation from time to time and after each damp and wet cleaning. Avoid polishing shoes that are still damp or spraying them excessively.

Remember that over time - due to mechanical wear of shoes or atmospheric influences - the effect of the impregnation is partially eliminated. This is a natural process, inevitably leading to a decrease in the quality of the shoes and largely independent of their quality. Nevertheless, it is worth ensuring that the agents protecting our shoes are of the best possible quality and contain appropriately selected fatty substances and oils, which - combined with appropriate dyes - will refresh our shoes. The technique to use and the agents to use depend on the type of material or leather from which the shoes are made.

Leather - effective ways of maintenance

Leather, like any natural material, may not maintain the same color and structure over its entire surface. Any differences in color or texture result from its natural non-uniformity.

GRAIN LEATHER UPPER

Always remove dirt with a sponge or cloth dampened in clean water. Leave the cleaned item to dry at room temperature. Then apply a small amount of paste or cream specifically designed for the material and spread over the entire surface. After drying, polish with a soft cloth. Remember to be careful when using self-glossing pastes, which can damage the surface material.

UPPER MADE OF NUBUCK OR VELVET

Remove dirt with a specially designed rubber brush or with mixed bristles. To revive the colour, apply a special colouring agent in an aerosol to the footwear, and to protect autumn-winter footwear from getting wet, use an impregnation in an aerosol. Do not use pastes or creams, because grease stains will not be possible to remove.

CRACKED LEATHER UPPER (type: pull-up crazy horse)

Wipe dirt with a damp cloth or sponge. After drying at room temperature, apply a lubricant spray.

UPPER MADE OF PATENT AND LEATHER-LIKE MATERIALS

Wash off dirt with a cloth or sponge dampened in water and leave to dry at room temperature. After drying, apply a colorless cream or spray for synthetic leather.

TEXTILE UPPER

Clean dirt only with a sponge soaked in a solution of mild detergents intended for this purpose.

WATERPROOF FOOTWEAR

Footwear with a waterproof membrane should be refreshed with a damp cloth. Apply a spray preservative to a well-dried, preferably heated, surface. If the footwear is waterproof and made of specially impregnated leather, use a wax designed for this type of leather or a spray impregnator. The upper material may slightly change shade, which is not a defect.

LEATHER SOLE

It is best to wipe the dirt off the sole with a slightly damp cloth and after drying at room temperature, apply a colorless shoe polish to the edge of the sole and heel. Wait a moment and then polish. Try not to let it get wet, which can cause the sole to delaminate and come apart. However, if it does happen, dry the shoes at room temperature.

THERMOPLASTIC RUBBER OUTSOLE WITH LEATHER ELEMENTS

Wipe the dirt with a damp cloth. In this type of footwear, avoid getting it wet. However, if you can't avoid it, the footwear should be dried at room temperature.

Bag and Backpack Care

We do not wash or overload bags and backpacks - learn the rules

1. Bags and backpacks, like footwear, should be used for their intended purpose. Remember to maintain them properly and regularly.

2. Be careful not to overload or stretch the material as this may cause damage to sensitive elements such as handles, straps and harnesses.

3. To ensure that your handbag or backpack retains its aesthetic value for as long as possible, avoid rubbing it against other surfaces for long periods of time and avoid contact with sharp and rough objects that may cause abrasions or other mechanical damage.

4. Maintain products appropriately to the material they are made of. Washing in a washing machine or mechanical cleaning destroys the product and is grounds for dismissing the complaint.
